BTBU Brief

Established in 1950, Beijing Technology and Business University (BTBU) is a high-level research and key university run by Beijing Municipal Government. BTBU was merged in 1999 from Beijing Institute of Light Industry (founded in 1958) and Beijing Institute of Business (founded in 1950) approved by the Ministry of Education. BTBU has now developed into a multidisciplinary university with mutual support and coordinated development of Science, Engineering, Economics, Management, Literature, Law, and Art. BTBU will strive to achieve the development goal of a high-level research university with distinctive characteristics in accordance with the “characteristics, connotation, standard, and quality” policy and attracts a large numb er of outstanding students from home and abroad.

BTBU now has 16 schools and 1 teaching department; 5 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points,1 joint doctoral degree authorization point, 18 first-level discipline master degree authorization points, 19 master degree authorization points and 63 undergraduate majors. Applied Economics, Food Science and Engineering, and Business Administration were selected into the list of “high-grade, precision and advanced” disciplines in Beijing universities. BTBU has 25 post-doctoral students (including 9 in joint training), 125 doctoral students, 3303 master students, 12,407 full-time undergraduates, and 567 adult education students.

Beijing Technology and Business University is located in the center of Beijing, with a very advantageous geographical location. It has two campuses, Fucheng Road and Liangxiang campus, with a total area of 830,000 square meters, including teaching, scientific research, and living facilities, and a beautiful campus environment.
